INDORE: Indoreans are making sure that everyone has enough woollen garments to keep them warm and comfortable this winter season. Doing their bit for the society on a personal level, many city folk are collecting and donating their old woollen clothes to the less fortunate.
"Every year before winter sets in, all members of our family scan our closet and take out all the woolens, which are in a good condition but won't fit anymore. Until last year we used to give these clothes to our house help and their families but this year we donated the clothes to a shelter-society which would then distribute it to people in need," said Anuja Audi, an engineer.
Audi also added that after seeing this gesture, many of her friends also donated winter clothes with an aim to help the society.
The clothes include a range of winter wears like mufflers, full-sleeved shirts, shawls, cardigans, and socks.
Along with individuals, many foundations and organisations of the city are also running clothes donation campaigns for the less-fortunate.
